Applying the Exclusive Design Features of the Black Rhodium’s Most Advanced Loudspeaker cables Black Rhodium Announces The Launch Of The Foxtrot and Quickstep Loudspeaker Cables.

The design of the new Black Rhodium FOXTROT loudspeaker cables was inspired by Black Rhodium dealer’s comment on the new Black Rhodium Thunder loudspeaker cable. He mentioned that “whenever we use any other speaker cable, we always go back to Thunder”. The same dealer stocks the full range of Black Rhodium high end loudspeaker cables so there had to be something very special about Thunder that no other cable in the range had. So what was different about Thunder?

We examined the differences between Thunder and our other cables and made some tests. We identified certain exclusive features of Thunder and we have designed a range of loudspeaker cables based on those exclusive design features. FOXTROT is the most modest and most basic application of the exclusive design features of Thunder loudspeaker cable. FOXTROT is hand built at the Black Rhodium factory in Derby using selected components and materials with a proven record for sound quality enhancement as demonstrated in Black Rhodium’s range of high end cables.

The special design features of FOXTROT • Ultra low ‘Proximity Effect’ Magnetic Field distortion due to added inter-conductor distance due to attractive braid over conductor • Very good flexibility • Mechanical Vibration Suppression Materials used in Construction • RFI noise reduction technology • Gold plated Z plugs in FOXTROT and GN-1 rhodium plated plugs in QUICKSTEP Low Transient Phase Distortion through Innovative Design. FOXTROT gives a very clear diction of a singer’s voice and separates musical instruments superbly through a dramatic reduction of ‘Transient Phase Distortion’. ‘Transient Phase Distortion’ is reduced by using thicker insulation than is usual in speaker cables, increasing the distance between conductors and thereby reducing the magnetic field seen in each conductor wire as a result of the magnetic field created by the current in the other conductor wire.

A further increase in the distance between conductors is achieved by use of the attractive cable braid and this further reduces ‘Proximity Effect’ distortion. By very substantially reducing this form of distortion, the music becomes clearer and more dynamic, with greater ambience and experience of the music’s emotional qualities. Mechanical Vibration Damping with Vibration Stabilisers The construction of FOXTROT include the use of two separate and complementary materials that effectively damp Mechanical Vibrations within the cable without the expense of Vibration Stabilisers.

Anti RFI / EMI Technology to Further Reduce Distortion. This protects the signal wires from picking up radio frequency interference (RFI) generated from Radio, Wifi, Mobile Phones and even central heating systems. The result is less audible distortion allowing cleaner, clearer sounds to be enjoyed from your equipment. High End Plated Connectors Gold plated Z plugs GN-1 rhodium plated Straight line Contact plugs FOXTROT Loudspeaker cables are terminated with high quality gold plated Z plugs, specially selected for their excellent sound quality.

Rhodium plating is applied to the GN-1 plugs to ensure a cleaner and less corroded contact is maintained between the plug and socket and its effect a much livelier and more exciting sound from the music. Additional security of the connection between the cable and plug is provided by a set screw that clamps the outer insulation of the wire.
