The Oyaide range of connectors undergoes attention to detail like no other in the hi-fi industry. As well as being an authorised Oyaide dealer, we use these in our own system as well as in many of the mains leads we produce for our customers.
“These plugs are not merely high grade; every step is taken to realise ‘State of the Art’ audio” say Oyaide themselves.
“Every one of our products is totally ‘made in Japan’, even down to the most minute component; all so we can maintain our high standard of quality and reliability. It is essential to have every production system under our direct and strict control. Our products are for a special and demanding market, where minute vibration from a loose connection or due to imperfect choice of material could become a vital failure. We carefully design each and every component for ease of assembling, simplicity and safety. We carefully select materials for superior sound quality, durability and reliability. For that requirement, cost factor is secondary. Instead we ignore excess decoration and unnecessary complexity. We are proud to present true value-for-money products for your enjoyment.
We enhance our product quality by paying careful attention to each detail of structural characteristic, texture and appearance. When such details are integrated successfully, a product is completed perfectly. All elements: the impression of rigidity, beautiful guilloche pattern on the surface inspired by a luxurious Swiss watch, brilliance of the buff-finished body, and the blue stainless-steel screws that are reminiscent of clock hands, represent sublime sound image of SRBN. SRBN is the extreme banana plug that is created by the fusion of the excellent sound and design quality.
In order to make style and sound perfect, we at Oyaide consider clear design concept and examination of details and materials very important. The main body is trimmed from an 8 mm phosphor bronze bar and then its insertion part is slit up in a cross shape and divided into quarters to ensure maximum contact area in the terminal. The size was determined based on WBTs speaker terminals, but it can be fit in any terminals. After more than ten times of repeated cut and try in micron scale, SRBN was exquisitely-designed to be inserted smoothly and not to come off easily.
The highly-rigid 5mm stainless screw is used for the 4mm cable penetration part. This in-fills the internal space between the body and the screw. The blue screws, made of stainless with quench-hardening treatment, are highly-rigid and emphasize the beauty of SRBN. After careful polishing by hand and mirror finishing, the body is completed with silver (inner) and rhodium (outer) plating.
Material / Structure:
Smooth and Tight. This is the theme that SRBN aimed at through characteristic of chosen materials. To hold tightly by using minimum components, SRBN is made by deoxidised phosphor bronze, which is used in many contacts due to its excellent springiness and electric property.
When SRBN was planned, we paid most careful attention to the design of its contact tip. It is slit up in a cross shape and divided in quarters to ensure the maximum contact area and is designed to be fit tightly into terminals when it is inserted. The size was determined based on WBTs speaker terminals, but it can be fit in any terminals. After more than ten times of repeated cut and try, SRBN was exquisitely-designed to be inserted smoothly and not to be come off easily.
The maximum install cable O.D is 4mm (5.5sq).
By employing 5mm dual screw connection system, it in-fills the internal space and holds conductor perfectly. The blue screws, made of stainless with quenching treatment, are highly-rigid and emphasise the beauty of SRBN.
The design concept of SRBN is inspired by “Breguet”, the luxurious Swiss watch. The slip resistance engraved on the body is reminiscent of Guilloche pattern on a surface. Furthermore, the screw is blue steel processed by quench-hardening using same technique as hands of a watch for the purpose of improvement of mechanical strength and oxidation resistant.
The body is trimmed down from 8mm phosphor bronze bar by precision CNC machining. It is finished by mechanical barrelling and hand polishing piece by piece. The plating of the mirror finished body is a combination of silver (1.5μ, inner) and rhodium (0.3μ, outer).”
