A top quality mains power cord with an integrated DC blocking filter housed in a non-resonant enclosure, terminated with Furutech IEC connector and MK toughplug.

The mains lead has a powerful mains filter in the centre of the cable, the aluminium enclosure houses a specially designed DC blocker, DC (direct current) occurs in the mains supply from house-hold appliances and has been present in the supply but not correctly addressed or acknowledged until recently.

Transformer hum is as a result of dc in the mains, our power cord will remove it and also improve the overall sound quality from your system as a result, the Excelium needs to be heard to be believed.

The power lead has been tested to prove it's effectiveness on a live mains supply and also in a computer simulation programme specifically for this task.

Standard length is 3 metres overall, longer lengths can be made to order.

This model is rated up to 5 amps and is suitable for direct connection to amplifiers, cd players, blu ray and most hi-fi equipment. To connect to a power conditioner or mains extension we recommend the 13 amp version which is an option on the up-grade menu.

2011-11-05 Cliff.	Great product at a great price.	David sent me two of these so I could try one with both my CD player and amp. Whilst the benefits to the CD player were minimal (maybe because it's got its power supply separate and has many DC voltage regulation stages), the effect on the amp was nothing short of staggering. I may have had no audible hum, but the quality of the mains (I now realise) was certainly not allowing the amp to do its job to its full capability. Now the background is that quiet (I didn't appreciate just how noisy it was before) that huge amounts of extra detail are coming through. All instruments and voices are just so natural sounding, clean and clear;and sound-stage imagery and definition are wonderful. I can't endorse this product highly enough, it's like my whole CD collection has been remastered - properly! David reckons he can beat hands down the Naim Powerline I decided to leave on the CD player, and based on what the Excelium has done, who am I to doubt him.

2011-10-01 Robert.	Worth the money.	I have been having trouble with hum on my LSA standard integrated amplifier since I bought it a few years ago, at the time I lived with it but recently it has been getting worse. I had seen several DC blockers but felt they were too expensive until I saw this one advertised. I took a chance and bought it, I fitted it and to my relief the hum was gone a great result I thought, since fitting it I have put in several long sessions with my vinyl set up and all I can say it just gets better the background is more quite the little macro details just jump out at you I could continue but I think you get the message. This is a well built product which I can highly recommend I opted for the 13 Amp version as I wanted it to power a mains conditioner, it worked very well powering the amp but through the mains conditioner everything just got better the Phono stage sounds better, my Electrostatic speakers (Mains powered) and it has improved my CD player beyond recognition anything with a transformer it improves if your system is up too it! Well done Mains Cables R us for a first class product at a very competitive price.

A very satisfied customer	After some email exchanges with David, I bought this DC Blocker, with a certain amount of sceptism, but it's made a huge difference to the detailed clarity of my Hi Fi system and has virtually eliminated a noticeable mains hum that was annoying me for years!
